The Hermes Scarf, Again

I saw a post on Hermes blankets last night on one my favorite blogs which lead to the Hermes web site, which lead to the scarves. They are ridiculously expensive like everything with an H attached to it but oh how I love them all.  I bought my first scarf in the mid 1990's in St. Barts for less than $200.  Those were the days. The scarves have such a history about them and some even collect them, but I wear them.

There are some sites out there that are fun to peruse and one is Luxury-scarves.com. You can search by designer, color, size, material, and create a wish list.  I love seeing the old ones and all of them are for sale. Here are some that I adore:

Soiree de Gala by Jean-Louis Clerc

 See it here.

If you saw the post about the Paddock Scarf you'll remember the designer of that scarf was Jean-Louis Clerc, the same designer who created the scarf above.  See the similarities?  I like this one too.

Hunt, The by Philippe Ledoux
Colorway
Navy blue border and off-white background with grey and multicolor details.
Condition
Rare design. Original 1963 issue. Overall condition is excellent. There is some faint yellowing along the fold lines. This has a vintage S stamp which is just a tiny black s in one corner which slightly bleeds through to the front.
Size: 90cm (35.5")
Condition: Used
Material: Silk twill
€ 390.-
$ 507.-

The old ones are more expensive than the brand new ones in many cases.  These scarves don't lose their value much.  Here is one of the new ones that I am loving:

 And if you have not seen the book, it's a wonderful addition to your library and will make a great gift.
Beware Ebay sellers though as there are many fakes out there. Only buy from a trusted seller. Happy Friday!  TGIF!

  1. I would buy the "Jumping" scarf and frame it. It may sound strange to do that, but It's too beautiful to wear. It's a work of art. That site is wonderful..I had no idea it was out there. Thanks!
