The local community association where I live hosted its homes tour this past weekend. The warm weather made for a record turnout and the houses on tour this year each had a "log" component. The first house was built in the 1700's and had been a tavern. The current owners completely restored it. It was amazing inside and out.
The downstairs bath was my favorite!
On the main floor, this room is used a a library/study.
The fireplaces are original.
The second house is also, log, moved and built about 10 years ago. It has new owners who have wonderful taste and have decorated it to the nines. It is used as a weekend home.
Behind the house is a small log shed they added recently with a nice cozy patio.
The third house is the newest having been built a few years ago. The logs are about 150 years old and were taken from a house just a few miles away. This is the side porch, which enters into the kitchen.
The log section is on the front of the house facing east.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing - don't you love the work some people accomplish? :)
ReplyDeleteReally neat homes and I just LOVE the decorating! Wow, some people have such an eye and fabulous taste. The last "olde home" I toured was Victorian era so it's fun to see these.
