Horse Country Chic would like to welcome Lycette Designs. If you have not seen these lovely needlepoint canvases, then you're in for a treat.
Lycette Designs was born from the owner, Jessica Chaney's love of needlepoint. She's been stitching since she was 12! Her first project was a Voila! belt canvas that she purchased at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. She continued to needlepoint throughout through her twenties and while in college she worked part-time at The Point of It All in Washington, DC. Jessica managed the store for a year once she graduated.
While working in the needlepoint industry Jessica noticed that there was a gap in the needlepoint design market and she decided to pursue her passion of needlepoint and reinvigorate this beloved pastime through a millennial lens.
Lycette Designs updates traditional pastimes, like needlepoint, with a modern, playful elegance. Lycette’s canvases are colorful, cheeky, and classic. They are inspired by lush winters in Palm Beach, the hydrangeas and hammocks of New England summers, and the effortless elegance of equestrian style. They are also inspired by interior designer Mario Buatta’s use of cheeky needlepoint sayings in almost every room he decorated. Needlepoint accessories (pillows, stools, rugs) are a staple of classic interior decorating, and Jessica wants Lycette’s canvases to inspire individuals to begin stitching and incorporate needlepoint into their own interior design.
Ultimately, Jessica wants Lycette to inspire individuals to bring back pastimes that require devotion of time and intention, pastimes that show and symbolize love through the final product, whether it is a gracious thank you note, a needlepoint pillow, or a dinner menu. She seems to be off to a grand start. You can purchase her designs through local retailers. Po's Point in Charlotte can order a canvas for you as well. You see her Lycette's website here. Don't you love it!
