Tales From the Crib

I love this Kentucky Derby series, Tales From the Crib about horses that are in the mix for the Kentucky Derby.  My favorite has to be Irap.  His rag to riches story is one for the movies plus I got to see him run last weekend, winning the Blue Grass Stakes, his first win.

See the story about Irap here.  That's the bay colt with his mother, Silken Cat, who was quite a nice mare.  His sire, Tiznow, stands at Winstar.  We saw him in October.

Here is a link to the story about Tapwrit.  He ran a disappointing race in the Blue Grass so it will be interesting to see if they enter him in the Derby.  But he is one lovely horse.  There are are few others on the Kentucky Derby site.

While we are talking about babies, the American Pharoah babies are starting to come in.  And they are adorable.....
