More Equestrian Decor - Do It Yourself!

My August 31st post on Equestrian Decor was quite popular so today I wanted to lend you a hand on how you can "do it yourself."  It's pretty easy if you know what to look for and there are thousands of antique stores and malls out there - so it's easy if you just keep your eye out.  And then there's the Internet.

Here are a few items I selected this morning off Ebay.  Just search under "Vintage Equestrian."  You'll get a lot of ugly circa 1980's clothes that claim to be "vintage equestrian" (gag) and western saddles. Don't tell Ralph his stuff is being sold on Ebay for outrageous prices and nobody wants.  But you can narrow the search from there.

Most of these items are very inexpensive.  Take this needlepoint pillow. Already stitched. Just needs an insert which you can buy at a local Calico Corners or fabric store.

Vintage posters and reproductions (like this one) are easy to frame and make a huge impact.

I must admit that I have this lamp, circa early 80's, guess that's vintage now. It is now in my tack room.  But it works and with a new shade from Target, you have a very inexpensive lamp.

You'll need just the right spot for this. But interesting.

I just love these!

These are really fun and hard to find already in the box.

Take some vintage photos, frame them and you have a wall.

If you have a bigger wallet you can peruse 1stdibs.com.  Here are few items I found this morning.

Cecil Alden, Circa 1900:

I love these sterling silver place card holders:

This poster is the real deal:

This is a great piece if you have the spot for it!

Isn't it fun to spend other people's money?
