Some fun news from the fashion world today. Banana Republic is collaborating with Milly designer Michelle Smith for a new line of clothes to be launched later this year. Smith's NY-based brand preppy brand, known for it's colorful prints and dresses that are best described as "adorbs," caught Banana Republic's creative director Simon Kneen's attention thanks to its "summer feeling of great homes and beautiful beaches. The easy, breezy style of Milly and her Hamptons-chic style is a new take on aspirational summer dressing for our consumers."
The 60-piece collection for men and women will include "a new print created for the capsule and six updated Milly prints," according to WWD, and is priced from $45 to $175 for women's apparel, $24.50 to $64.50 for men's wear, and $39.50 to $130 for jewelry and accessories. The affordable aspirational dressing will be available for Hamptons-goers and everyone else come May at Banana Republic stores and online.
Kinda hard to think about summer clothes, but it's January, so they will be in the stores before we can utter
Valentine's Day.
