Au Revoir

Sad day in my world as my father passed very suddenly last night, but not totally unexpected.  Snow storm has not helped either. Say your prayers, hug your family and loved ones and remember, "you always think you have time."

This photo was taken at Thanksgiving our last family get together, under happy circumstances.  He lived a good life.

Taking some time to grieve.....hug your parents if you still have them!

  1. A lovely photo -- your father was a dapper man.

    I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

    My father is in his late 80's. Yesterday I found him up on his roof shoveling off the snow. Yikes!

  2. I feel for your sorrow...
    "When you look up at the sky at night, since I'll be living on one of them, since I'll be laughing on one of them, for you, it'll be as if all the stars are laughing. And when you're consoled (everyone is eventually consoled), you'll be glad you've known me."

  5. I found great comfort, when my father was dying, in Carrie Underwoods song, "See you again"
    I based some of his Eulogy on the idea that this song gave me, that if kept close in our hearts, and remembered every day, our loved ones are never really gone.

    Sometimes I feel my heart is breaking
    But I stay strong and I hold on cause I know

    I will see you again, whoa
    This is not where it ends
    I will carry you with me, yeah, yeah

    I am so sorry for your loss. {{hugs}}

  10. I catch up on my favorite blogs as time permits and just read this. My heart goes out to you and your family; I'm so sorry. I lost my father ten years ago, and some times it feels like yesterday.
