Baby April Update, Part ?

Baby April has survived two months of stall rest (she left the barn only once in two months) and is now outside on "stall rest" in a small area with the companionship of Linus the Loaner.  We had one small episode on Wednesday when she first went out but drugs are my friend (her friend I should say) and lots of them!  We received a dusting of snow last night but nothing like the Northeast can expect in the next few days.  Here is Linus this morning.  He really likes April a lot.

April seems to be happy being outdoors even in mud.  The hay bale arrives on Saturday!

Am hoping that in a few more months Baby April's life will return to normal again.  We'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, Sega and Alfie are enjoying the winter months, with very light work.  Alfie is clipped so he stays bundled up.  But they seem to enjoy winter.

The snow makes for a lovely picture!  Can't complain about being in the Shenandoah Valley.  Life is good!

  1. Lovely turn out! Can you tell us a bit more about April's health issues? The poor thing!

    1. Very long story. You can see my other posts. Has been on and off of stall rest for about 18 months. Ligament injuries in her feet. She will defy the odds if she comes out of this one sound as well. But giving it one last shot before she becomes a brood mare.

  2. Linus is a cutie!
Hope April manages her continued rehab well... it's never easy.

  3. I'm in the middle of stall rest and rehab with my horse as well right now. May they both come back 100% soon!

  4. Seeing Alfie's (?) neck blanket made me laugh--I had a great Thoroughbred field hunter that HATED the neck blanket. He would stand perfectly still and glare at me until it came off!
You have inspired me to resume my needlepointing. I am currently working on the fox Noel and Red Coat ornaments shown in a previous post. Thanks for the "kick" ! :)
