Horse Country Fall Tours in Lexington, KY

If you happen to find yourself in Lexington, KY this fall or if you need an excuse to make a short road trip, there are some great tours available in  September around the Keeneland Fall Meet.  I'd love to take this tour.

Behind the Scenes at Keeneland's September Sale

See what the professionals look for and experience the thrill of the sale!
Keeneland, together with Horse Country, is offering guests an opportunity to experience an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the world’s leading Thoroughbred auction house including guided portions with real consignors and agents! You can't get this access anywhere else! In addition to guided visits throughout the grounds including the Keeneland Grandstand, picturesque Paddock, world-renowned Keeneland Sales Pavilion complex - where some of Thoroughbred racing’s greatest horses have been sold - you'll actually get to see what the professionals look for and experience the thrill of the sale from the insider's perspective! Horse Country members Darby Dan, Mill Ridge, and Taylor Made will offer a special portion of the tour from consignor and agent perspectives.

You can add to your knowledge with a few additional tours.....

Mill Ridge
For this special edition of the tour, Headley and Price Bell (fifth and sixth generation horsemen with family operations Mill Ridge Farm and Nicoma Bloodstock) will be your backstage guides as they take you with them through the sales process from the agent's perspective. From catalogue to barn, back ring to sales pavilion, this tour is your chance to see where it all starts.

Available dates:
Sept. 12 | 8:00-10:00 am
Sept. 17 | 8:00-10:00 am

Taylor Made
For this special edition of the tour, you'll get to spend some time with the Taylor Made team while they show horses for sale to buyers from all over the world. See what buyers are looking for and check out how one of the leading sales agencies in the world preps for the sale ring. Taylor Made has sold more than $2,000,000,000 in horses since its inception over 40 years ago - come see what this batch may bring!
