After the success of films like: Alvin and the Chipmunks and Marley & Me, it isn't a surprise that a remake of the classic 1960s television series Mister Ed is in the planning stages at Fox 2000.
David Friendly (Little Miss. Sunshine) and Jim Mahoney just secured the film rights to the television series. An article in "Variety" quotes Friendly, saying "It's always the perfect time for a four-quadrant family movie....Those are movies that have the strongest pull. As a producer, I try to envision the poster and this one looks pretty good coming from the studio behind 'Marley & Me' and 'Alvin and the Chipmunks."
While the film is still in its very early stages, Dark Horizons reports, "The live action family film will feature a real horse with a CG-animated mouth to convey his capablity of speech." A screenwriter is currently being sought for the new project
