Simple Stocking Stuffers

Christmas is only ten days out so you'd better be shopping by now.  We do stockings at my house and it's so much fun. Here are few stocking stuffer ideas.....

Smartwool Socks
These are the warmest socks, without bulk, period.  Riders love them, outdoor enthusiasts will love them and cold people will love them.  They wear out after a year or so, but so what. They are warm.  See them here.

Cute Jewelry
Who doesn't love jewelry?  We all do! So what about a cute inexpensive bauble from Baublebar.com?  See it here.

Dishtowels
You never have too many of these.  Here are some cute ones for the holidays:

Pot Holders
These are too cute.  See them here.

Lilly Monogrammed Cups
For the Lilly lover in your life... See them here.

Cocktail Napkins
What hostess doesn't love these?  Caspari is my favorite!  See them here.

Christmas Cocktail Clothes

I love holiday cocktail parties and dressing up is half the fun of it.  I'll do the arm chair quarterback thing again since I'll be one-armed for most of the season.  So, what to wear?  This Tory Burch sweater is lovely and it's on sale.

This Prada small handbag is perfect for cocktail parties.

These wool pants will go nicely, and they are warm and comfortable....

I don't wear high heels much so I go for something flat...

Need a little jewelry but not too much...

And this bracelet:

And you must take a hostess gift, something that he or she would not buy for themselves, such as....

Or perhaps this....

This is a great gift for the entertainer.

December Dresses

December means party time. Time to pull out a fun or special dress.  With an arm in a sling, I can't wear anything in my closet right now, so these are my armchair picks to make your most dazzling December entrance ever.

Kate Spade has oodles of cute dresses on her web site and everything is still 25% off.

This Diane von Furstenburg is cute enough to wear all winter long.

This Tibi dress is also on sale.
Adore this number from Trina Turk.

This one screams holiday. Also from Trina Turk.

This Nanette Lapore is greatly reduced at N-M.

Equestrian Holiday Gift Guide - Part One

In trying to pick out a few items for my horsey friends I realized I had no clue what to give so I have put together one of a few gift giving ideas for the equestrian set.  You don't have to be a rider but at least a horse lover......

This necklace from C Wonder is really fun and attractive.

 C Wonder see it here.

I love this Coach Bag.  It comes in many colors and is a great size and so versatile.  Orange is my favorite.

Rebecca Ray makes great stuff and it is good quality and made in America.  I love these cuff bracelets.

I love this Ariat jacket and it's likely going under the tree for a good friend.  It comes in black and red.

This cute cosmetic bag is very reasonable and would make a great stocking stuffer for sure!

This cute popover can be monogrammed in various Lilly patterns and you can pick several colors for the sweatshirt. I love white but could never keep this clean.

Lilly can be found on Etsy, lots of vendors sell them.  What a fun gift.  You can wear it in Wellington!

This scarf is from Ralph and it's on sale for $29.95 and it's wool!
It comes in three colors.

These napkin rings are also at Ralph Lauren.  Love them too!  And they are on sale.

Hope these tips help you in your holiday shopping.  More to come!

L.L. Bean Runs Out of Boots

It's a bad problem to have.  The demand for the iconic L.L. Bean duck boot is out of control. And no one knows why.

According to media reports, the retailer is sold out of women's size 8 snow boots and most other sizes for both men and women aren't available to ship out until February. 100,000 people are already on the wait list for boots, and L.L.Bean's website says that they are in "extremely limited supply."  The Maine-based company has hired more workers and doled out $1 million on a new molding machine to make the rubber soles. Maybe it's due to a preppy resurgence?  Did Kate and Wills buy a pair?

If you are expected Santa to bring you boots, better find an alternative.

Pottery Barn Christmas

I am loving some of the new decor items at Pottery Barn, either to give as gifts or decorate the house.  Either way, it works, very well.

The pillows come in 20" covers, you have to buy the inserts but this makes them so easy to pack away at the end of the season.

These throws are lovely trimmed in fur....

 More pillows:

I love this faux fur throw:

This will look good in any bar:
