Equestrian Influence in Furniture, Right Now!

We've all seen Ralph Lauren's interiors, Gucci's equestrian influence in fashion and even  Burberry's recent line of handbags with fox motifs.  Tory Burch is in on the act as well. But we're also seeing a resurgence in equestrian design for the home which obviously I love.  That tailored look, the classic design, the clean lines and traditional theme that never goes out of style is clearly back.  This collection is part of Stanford Furniture and was designed by Julie Browning Bova.  She is a mother of four children who ride, so she's clearly immersed.

Designer Julie Bova has let her equestrian lifestyle influence her home collection for Stanford Furniture. She embellished the Yonkers ottoman, the Shire end table and the Wildaire mirror with a horse bit detail. Don't you just love it?  Subtle yes, but with big impact. Speaks a bit Gucci to me; it works!

I am loving the influence on design right now.  These pieces would look equally well in a nice tack room as well.

(some photos are from Dovecote Decor)

You can go to the website for more information on these pieces (but I have not been able to access it for a few days, fyi).  Happy Thursday!

  1. LOVE the real bit details on the pillows and ottoman, although the family might find that a hair over the top (they are kind enough to put up with the rest of my equestrian decorating so I don't want to push my luck :-). Regarding Madame Designer, am I allowed to hate her just a tiny bit for being a) wealthy, b) gorgeous and c) an apparent size 2 after four children??? Augh...

  2. All so very beautiful!!!! Thank you for sharing!
