Winterthur Gifts

Have you made the trek to Winterthur in Delaware, the former home of Henry Francis du Pont (1880 - 1969)?  It's now a museum dedicated to the American decorative arts covering the period between 1640 and 1860.  The 175-room house is open to the public sitting on a 1000 acre preserve.

If you can't make the trek to Delaware this holiday season, you can shop their gift shop.  This is a great way to help fund a treasured landmark and also find unique holiday gifts.  I love these Woodland Plates which come in sets of four.

Or the matching bowls.

Winterthur is well known for its furniture and makes many high end reproductions. I also love their gardens and this bench would be spectacular in a garden in anyone's home and it comes in several colors.  I am partial to the black one. See it here.

I also like this classic bar cart but you have to put it together.  See it here.

This Winterthur Pinetum Spice Potpourri will make the perfect hostess gift.  See it here.

This book chronicling Winterthur's holiday decorating would make the perfect gift for someone who loves to decorate for the holidays.  See it here.

For the cook or foodie on your list, a cookbook from Winterthur.

Or this lovely scarf:

Hope you make it to this lovely spot if you've never been.  Happy Tuesday!
