It's in the Details

It's the small details that make a room, an interior, an outfit, a table setting and even a dinner.  I've always admired the way Charlotte Moss add these small touches to a room that just "make" a room - a fabulous waste basket, monogrammed pads on a table in a guest room, tassels, fringe on chairs and drapes, and monograms (but not everything should be monogrammed).

In this same vein, Mark Sikes' new book, coming in September offers some great ideas for detail.  Can't wait to see it!

Love the detail in this room down to the garden stool Sikes used as a bedside table in this guest bedroom.  What a clever and inexpensive idea.  Love the matching everything but yet it does not looked matched. This is a comfortable room.

Love the details on these drapes:

An easy detail you can add is a luggage rack to a guest room space.  My needlepoint straps are at the finisher and will share once they arrive.
