1) The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit
My all-time favorite horse movie that I could watch over and over again. This one is family friendly. Dean Jones, a very young Kurt Russell and watch for Kathy Kusner (she rides all the horse show scenes). Disney at it's very best.
2) The Horse with the Flying Tail
Another Disney classic about Nautical, a famous show jumper.
3) Harry and Snowman
A true story about a famous horse and his owner. Not to be missed.
Has anyone not seen this movie at least three times?
5) Ruffian
I have this one on video about a famous filly who died in a match race, possibly the greatest of all time.
6) Champions (available on Netflix)
The true story of Bob Champion, a British steeple chase jockey who, in the late 1970s, was diagnosed with cancer. Rather than succumb to the disease, however, Bob stages a miraculous recovery and goes on to win the 1981 Grand National steeplechase on the horse Aldaniti.
7) 30 for 30: Charismatic (It was available on Netflix, not sure if it still is)
The story of the horse who almost won the Triple Crown.
8) 50 to 1
The story of Mine That Bird's win in the Kentucky Derby
9) Being AP (on Netflix)
A pretty good documentary about the famous jockey Tony McCoy. The non-horse people in your life will be bored to tears but everyone else will enjoy.
And if anyone has this movie, I'd love to be able to see it.......
